Canberra is not known as a city for major shopping. However, for the locals and out of towners, there are some great places available for all their shopping needs.
Since 1989, the Canberra Centre had opened its doors to serve the citizens and visitors of the city of Canberra. It underwent major renovations and additions in the 90s and in 2006. Now a very modern mall, it holds over 200 stores. Near City Hill, it delivers when it comes to having the latest fashions. Selling a wide variety of food, clothing, makeup, jewelry, video games, and more, it fulfills everyone’s shopping expectations. The mall is also home to the luxurious Dendy Cinemas. Shop till you drop then watch the latest movies in comfort and style in their Premium Lounge chairs while eating and drinking from their bar and a-la-carte menu.
Old Bus Depot Markets
Like the name, the market is located in a quaint old industrial building that used to house an old bus depot on Wentworth Avenue in Kingston. Originally started a couple of decades ago by two young creative and forward-thinking moms, the market started out small with only about 30 or so stalls. Now it is an award-winning hub of quality arts, crafts, clothing, food, jewelry, housewares, and produce with about 200 vendors. It’s open every Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. In the busy month of December, it’s also open on Saturdays with the same hours.
Fyshwick Fresh Food Market
Not as big as the Old Bus Depot Markets, customers describe this market as fresh, appealing and with a European style of display. The stalls sell an excellent variety of meats, fish, produce, spices, and alcoholic drinks. The produce sold here is high quality. It is also a great lunch spot with a few cafés and bakeries. Located on Dalby Street, parking is easily accessible.
Capital Region Farmers Market
This market is open for business every Saturday morning from as early as 7:30 am to 11:30 am. It is held at Exhibition Park. The Rotary Club of Hall is responsible for the running of this market. This market promotes the agriculture in the area and provides fresh seasonal produce.

It is open usually in September on the weekends between 10 am and 4 pm.
Hartley Hall Markets
